Common questions

Study in Canada — your questions, answered.

Is SDS still available for Canada student visas?

No. The Student Direct Stream (SDS) was discontinued in November 2024. All applications from India now go through the regular study permit stream, where document quality, financial clarity and a convincing study plan decide the outcome — this is where professional file preparation makes the biggest difference.

What is a PAL and do I need one?

A Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) is issued by the province of your institution and is mandatory for most study permit applications. Your college or university arranges it after you accept your offer and pay your deposit — we make sure it's in place before your file is lodged.

How much does the GIC cost and do I get it back?

The GIC is CAD $22,895 (about ₹14 lakh) deposited with an approved Canadian bank. It isn't a fee — after you arrive, the bank releases it back to you in monthly instalments to cover your living costs.

How long does a Canada study permit take from India?

Typical processing is 7–12 weeks, though clean, complete files are sometimes decided in as little as 3 weeks. Apply as early as possible after receiving your acceptance and PAL.

Can I get PR after studying in Canada?

Many of our students do. Canadian study plus post-graduation work experience earns significant points under Express Entry, and several Provincial Nominee streams target international graduates. We help you pick a program today that keeps those doors open tomorrow.
