Standard ICA processing is just 1–2 weeks for most applications — the fastest of all our destinations. Complex cases or peak intake periods can stretch to 4–8 weeks, so apply as soon as your institution registers you on SOLAR.
SOLAR is ICA's online student registration system. Your institution registers you first, then you complete and submit eForm 16 online with your details and photo. Your file is decided electronically and you receive an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter.
There is no fixed minimum like NZ or Canada, but ICA expects you to demonstrate you can support your study and stay. Healthy, well-documented funds always strengthen your file — we advise the right amount for your course.
Students at approved institutions (mainly public universities and polytechnics) can work up to 16 hours per week during term. Students at most private institutions cannot work — we tell you honestly which category your institution falls in.
